A meandering blog dedicated to my meandering experiences.
The real struggle…is about you: you, a person who has to learn to live in the real world, to inhabit her own skin, to know her own heart, to stop waiting for her life to begin.

every night before i go to sleep for the past week or so i’ve been hoping that i’ll dream of you and me together. When I do dream of us I dream of you holding me. I dream of you wanting me as much as i want you. When I wake up i wonder if you had the same dream. I wonder if we visited each other. I wonder if you think of me as much as i think of you. I want to share that dream.

I often look at women who wear great jeans and high heels and nice little T-shirts wandering around the city and I think, I should make more of an effort. I should look like that. But then I think, They can’t be happy in those heels.
Wounding and healing are not opposites. They’re part of the same thing. It is our wounds that enable us to be compassionate with the wounds of others. It is our limitations that make us kind to the limitations of other people. It is our loneliness that helps us to to find other people or to even know they’re alone with an illness. I think I have served people perfectly with parts of myself I used to be ashamed of.

LOOK AT YOUR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE
NOW LOOK AT ME
NOW BACK AT YOUR CANDIDATE
NOW BACK TO ME
SADLY, YOUR CANDIDATE IS NOT ME
BUT IF HE HAD A BRAIN, HE MIGHT NOT BE A TREMENDOUS DOUCHEBAG
LOOK IN YOUR HAND
LOOK BACK UP
I HAVE IT
IT’S RIGHTS FOR EVERYONE, NOT JUST RICH WHITE CHRISTIAN MEN
LOOK AGAIN
THE RIGHTS ARE NOW LAWS
I’m not in the White House

It’s a most distressing affliction to have a sentimental heart and a skeptical mind.

I love the idea of the big life - the life that matters, the life that makes a difference. The life where stuff happens, where people take action. The opposite of the life where the girl can’t even speak to the boy she likes; the opposite of the life where the friends aren’t even good friends, and lots of days are wasted away feeling bored and kind of okay, like nothing matters much.
